Choir
Photo by Ken Sylvester Choir update July 10, 2009: The choir is beginning to prepare for our fall and Christmas season. We will begin with the “Honor the Badge” program on September 12, 2009 at 10:00 am. Our choir retreat will be at First Baptist Church of Orlando in the Marie Williams chapel on September 19. The Gospel Sunday fun will be on October 11, 2009, and then on to our Christmas Program the weekend of December 12, 13, and 14.
Music distribution will begin soon so use the gift that God has blessed you with and join us. We would love to have you.
Music and singing are joyous and integral parts of Asbury’s worship services and special programs. There are a variety of opportunities for persons of all ages to participate in our music ministries. Chancel Voices-Choir members meet at 7:45 am to rehearse more familiar traditional music to be sung at the 8:15 service. Chancel Choir-The Chancel Choir provides the 11:00 am Sunday services with a blend of traditional anthems, popular gospel tunes and special music. Both of the choirs are open to all who enjoy singing (the ability to read music is not a requirement). Rehearsal is held every Wednesday at 6:45 pm. Throughout the year, the Chancel Choir performs concerts for outreach to the community, beginning with Easter, Honor the Badge, Gospel Sunday and full scale Christmas extravaganza.
